This one is for those of you that have collapsed under the pressure to buy an air fryer, the latest gadget the cookware industry has thought up for us. There really are some fun things you can do with it and this is one of them. Instant homemade potato chips that the kids love.
All I do is slice the potatoes, with or without the skin, about 1/4 inch thick. Toss with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Lay into the air fryer. While it’s preferable to be all in one layer, it’s impractical given the size of most air fryers, and so I just open and rearrange periodically until they are golden brown all over.
They are delicious served with ranch dip but any dip or salsa your family likes would be great. This was a big hit with my kids.
Homemade air fryer potato chips (makes about 3 servings)
- 3 medium size potatoes
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
Slice the potatoes into 1/4 inch rounds. Toss well with olive oil and salt and lay into an air fryer. Turn on air fryer to 390 F and cook until well browned, about 15 minutes. If they do not lay on one layer, you will need to periodically rearrange the potatoes for even cooking. Sprinkle again with salt if desired and serve with ranch dip.
Mmmmmm!
