The last couple days have been the kick-off to the Jewish high holidays, and we have been cooking up a storm. Kugel, honey cake, apples, and other sweet dishes, are all traditional as the Jewish year comes to an end, and we wish for a sweet new year to come. At the end of this year, I am so grateful for the new community I have in Charlotte, one that I never dreamed would be so rich so soon. For the first time, I also have friends that share my love for cooking for others and sharing beautiful meals, and it has been such a joy to be both the giver and the receiver of those gifts.
On that note, here is a picture of the challah that my friend Teren brought to my house last night to share with us and with my grandmother. It speaks for itself.
L’shana tovah!
Amazing challah! So sweet of Teren to bring it to you. L’shana tova.
